Chi Al Meh

This incredible Manipuri vegetable stew is the perfect bowl of warm sunshine to accompany you in this cold winter. Super simple to make with very few ingredients, you won't be able to stop yourself from getting second helpings - I promise!

SERVES:

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup Green Peas
2 medium sized potatoes (peeled and sliced)
1 medium sized tomato (roughly chopped)
1 tbsp Ginger Paste
6-8 Karimunda Black Peppercorns
3 Cloves
Salt to taste
2 1/2 cups Water

METHOD:
In a heavy bottom pan, bring the water along with your peppercorns and cloves to a boil.

Once the water reaches a rolling boil, add in your sliced potatoes, tomato and green peas.

Cook until the potatoes soften and mash some in to thicken the gravy.

Stir in your ginger paste and salt. Cover and cook for another 3-5 minutes.

Serve hot!
